WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 11TH AND 12TH SEPTEMBER 2010 - TELFORD

 

WELL DONE!! Congratulations to all competitors who took part in the recent World Championships in Telford. It was a fantastic weekend for the club. Best of the Best!! There were over 2000 participants from around the world, coming as far as Australia, Canada, Argentina, South Africa, India and European nations, came to show their talents. It was an experience to watch raw talents, showing their brilliants techniques for the world to see.

 

We took home 10 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals, not including medals from the Team Sparring Events, an event that we're excel at. It was also an exciting moment for the club when 4 of our club members were chosen to repreent the Welsh Team for the Nation Team Sparring. Carl Betty, Ben Jackson and Matthew Jackson have done well. Jessica Howells was selected to represent the Welsh Ladies Team and they came home with a silver medal.

Maya Levan (2), James Powell (2), Taylor Davies, Greig Harris, Joel Pitt, Melissa Bowditch, Joel Clark and Rita Levan.

 

Silver Medallists:

Sofea Levan, Kieron Sullivan, Jamie Sullivan, Bethan Smith, Lewis Smith and Jessica Howells (2).

 

Bronze Medallsits:

Jodie Powell, Rebecca Dean and Joshua Gould.

Well done again to all students, especially the competitors, who have worked really hard months before the big event. Special mention to all parents for their support and understanding. We're looking forward to BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS in Telford in November!!

 

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS PARTY

There'll be a party to celebrate the excellent weekend we had. The party will be held on the 25th September 2010 from 6 till late. All Cwmbran and Pontypool students are welcome.

 

COLOURED BELT GRADING

The grading will take place in Pontypool Active Living Centre on the 24th September 2010 at 6 pm. Please wear your white dobok only and for all green belts and above, please don't forget to bring your sparring gears.
